James Hale Poodley Parten, Sr.

Services for Mr. James H. Parten, Sr. will be held Wednesday at 11 am at Webb Chapel with Rev. Damon Rose officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Nanafalia, Alabama with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Parten, 76, of Meridian, died Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U. S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Parten of Meridian children, Jane McMurry Tom of Tupelo, Kenneth Parten Mary Lynn of Meridian, Brenda Williams Lawrence of Meridian, Teresa Rose Damon of Gordo, Alabama, Mitchell Harmon, and James Parten, Jr. Linda of Collinsville 14 grandchildren 17 great grandchildren sisters, Rowena Barr Howard of Mena, Arkansas, and Arlene Walker Jamie of Uniontown, Alabama and a brother, Ronald Parten Shannon of Selma, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Pallbearers will be Cody McMurry, Alex Parten, Matthew Rose, Jack Bubba Boyette, Chris Clibrey, Shawn Parten, and Keith Jones.
