James Blake Pearson, 38, of Carmichael, MS, passed away on June 30, 2021 at his residence.
Blake was born January 13, 1983, in San Diego, CA.
He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, TN, with a degree in Political Science and minored in English and Psychology. While at MTSU, he was in the Blue Raider Band, a Senator on The Student Government Association, had a political show on MTSU Radio, and wrote articles for Sidelines Newspaper.
Blake graduated from Hendersonville High School, Hendersonville, TN, with honors. He was a member of The Band of Gold, receiving three letters and the Junior Award for outstanding student. He was a member of the Beta Club, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and President of The Vica Computer Club. He was TN State Champion in computers in 2001. He was in “who’s who” of American High School Students for four years.
Blake had a unique and funny personality and occasionally did “stand up” comedy. He was a published poet and devoted friend. He was a member of Victory Assembly of God Church in Hendersonville, TN.
Blake is survived by his father, Larry G. Pearson (Janet) of Phoenix, AZ; mother, Beverly Sue Pearson of Carmichael, MS; brother, Larry G. Pearson Jr. (Melody) of Pt. Hueneme, CA; aunt, Beulah Nell Hayes; aunt, Caroline Pearson; aunt, Jessie Steele (Keith); and true friend, Jerry Bonner.
Pallbearers will be Andy Becton, Stevie Conner, Larry Fleming, Greg Fletcher, Kerry, Terry, and Joey Hayes, and Keith Roberts. Honorary pallbearers are Mickey Becton and Mike Loper.
Blake is preceded in death by his grandfathers, James Lige Becton and Glen Pearson, and grandmothers, Frances Becton and Florence Pearson Sussek.
Graveside services will be Monday, July 5, 2021, 3:00 p.m., at Andrew’s Chapel in Carmichael, MS with Rev. Travis McManus officiating.
