James Michael Poole

      James Michael Poole, 61, of Saltillo, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

   Michael was born to James C. and Eunice I. Poole on June 21, 1963, in Meridian, MS. Michael was known for always being a jokester and loved to make people smile. After graduating high school, Michael focused on bodybuilding and won several competitions throughout his bodybuilding career. His love of fitness prompted him to open his own gym, Hardcore Fitness in Tupelo. His real passion, however, was his son, Stephen. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted father and grandfather. After closing the gym, Michael began driving over the road, most recently driving locally with Ashley Furniture. After his father became ill, Michael retired to become the caregiver for his father. 

     Michael is survived by his son, Stephen Poole and his fiancé, Allie; father, James C. Poole; brother, David Poole; sister, Susan Royal; along with his granddaughter, Emma.

     He is preceded in death by his mother, Eunice I. Poole.

     The family will have a private memorial service scheduled for a later date.
