Janis Temple

Graveside services for Janis Williamson Temple will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church cemetery in Bailey with Pastor Caleb Hughes officiating.

Mrs. Temple passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020, at Anderson’s Regional Medical Center at the age of 94. Her family was blessed to have been able to gather around her, and she is having a joyful reunion in heaven with those who preceded her.

She is survived by her children, Terrell Temple (Sandy), Jeanette Stewart, Janet Pinkham (Bobby) and Rhonda Boutwell (Bob) all of Meridian; grandchildren, Brian Temple, Kelly Temple Crocker, Daniel, Adam and Glenn Stewart, Greg and Tim Pinkham and Brent Boutwell; twenty great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her spouse of 72 years, Rayford T. Temple, parents Kelly and Roxie Williamson, sister, Delores Clark, brothers, Bernard and Jamie Williamson and son-in-law Allan W. Stewart.

Mom loved her family – and they loved her. She was a long-time member of Fellowship Baptist Church and loved to read her Bible and study devotionals. Pop was the face of the family but Mom was the backbone. She loved her flowers and working in the yard. She loved competing for – and winning – the community yard of the month and yard of the year.

The family would like to express appreciation to the staff of Bedford Care Center of Marion for their compassionate care of Mom and Anderson Hospital staff for their loving care in her last hours. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like for memorials to be made to Fellowship Baptist Church Building Fund. Because of current health concerns, there will be no visitation. Friends may sign the online register at www.stephensfunerals.com.
