Jerry was the owner of Kewanee 1 Stop. This family business was begun July 7, 1990, and is still in operation today. His dream was to create a place that would be run one day by his family. Both of his daughters grew up in the store and now his grandchildren come there. This is a place that when family comes in from out of town, they all want to go there to eat and tell family stories.
This small business is known by truck drivers all across America. It is the kind of place where you walk in and everyone there knows not only your name but what you want to eat. Jerry loved nothing more than sitting at table 1, drinking coffee and talking with everyone.
He loved to hunt, play golf and travel. He will be missed by us all.
A memorial service will be held Jan. 20, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Toomsuba Baptist Church, 3969 Hwy. 11/80; Toomsuba.
