Jewel Marie Allen

     Jewel Marie (Nelson) Allen, 92, of Meridian, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at the University Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi on December 13, 2023.

     Jewel was born to Norman and Jessie Mae Nelson on October 10, 1931 in Lauderdale County, Mississippi.  Her daughters fondly remember how she loved to read her Bible scripture and devotional each day.  She loved her visits to the salon, having her hair done and receiving manicures and pedicures.  Most of all, she will be remembered as being a strong woman who loved her God and family with all her being.

     Jewel leaves behind her son, Donnie Allen; daughters, Karen Allen (Nelson) Granados, Marie Allen (Bill) Gallant, Deborah “Debbie” Allen (Rick) Scott; and a great legacy of 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

     She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clem Cevius Allen; sons, Ronnie Allen, Norman Kenneth Allen, and Floyd Gregory Allen; daughter, Delight Allen Beckman; and grandsons, Don Jacob Allen and David Wayne Beckman.

     Visitation for Jewel will be on Saturday, December 16, 2023, beginning at 1pm at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-North, located at 7774 Hwy 39 N, Meridian, Mississippi 39305.  The Funeral Service will begin at 2pm in the chapel, with Bro. Tom Belcher officiating.  Burial will take place in the Barker Cemetery located on Confederate Road, Meridian, Mississippi 39305.

     Pallbearers for the service will be Bill Gallant, Nelson Granados, Rick Scott, Donnie Allen, Kevin Gallant and Brad Gallant.
