Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy W. Johnson will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 12 p.m. at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with Bro. Trevor Gore officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 - 12 at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Johnson, 77, of Meridian passed away on April 14 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting and dealing with his animals (he was known as the chicken man).
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Johnson; Children, Robert W. Johnson (Jessica), Nancy McCary (Keith), Brenda Currie, Sarah Bozeman (Joey); Sisters, Linda Barnes and Betty Jean Trahan; Brother, Larry Averitt (Mary Jane); Twelve Grandchildren; Twenty Great Grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John Edward Johnson and Zetta Averitt; Daughter, Darlene Broadway; Brothers, Allen Averitt, Billy Johnson, Milton Johnson; and a sister, Peggy Volking.
Pallbearers will be Brian McCary, Wayne Currie, Nathan Currie, Danny Johnson, Jonathan Rue, Adam Rue, Ken Apperson, John Barnes, Heath Brooks, and Matthew Powell. Honorary Pallbearers, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
