Mr. Joe E. Harris, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Joe E. Harris, Sr. will be held Friday, March 19, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Webb Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Marks officiating. Burial will be in Pine Springs Southern Methodist Church Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Harris, 85, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a lifelong member of Pine Springs Southern Methodist Church, a retired truck driver and former owner of Harris Grocery and Marine. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother.

He is survived by his son, Joe Sonny Harris, Jr. and Sharon of Meridian a daughter, Brenda Harris Burt of Rose Hill, MS grandchildren: Steve Harris, Sean Harris, Shaunna Harris, Jason Burt and Casey Burt ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild sisters: Stella Snowden and Mary Clark brotherinlaw, James Davis and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Sollie Harris parents, Enos and Pearl Harris brother, Lloyd Harris and sister, Dorothy Davis.

Pallbearers will be Steve Harris, Sean Harris, Matt Harris, Chris Harris, Casey Burt, Jason Burt, Butch Snowden and Trey Snowden. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Harry Dayton and Leroy Rigdon.

Visitation will be Friday, March 19, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
