Services for John Albert “Al” Harrison will be Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 11:00 am at Providence Baptist Church in Chunky with burial to immediately follow in the church cemetery. Bro. Jackie Strebeck will be officiating. Stephens Funeral Home has been entrusted with his arrangements.

Mr. Harrison, 91, of Collinsville, MS, entered eternal life on June 5, 2019. He was fortunate to stay in his beloved home with his pets, just as he wished.

Al was born August 28, 1927 in Pensacola, Florida to Eddie and Delores Harrison. He served in the Merchant Marines and shortly afterward met the love of his life of 54 years, Rosa Pauline Harrison. He and Pauline made their home in Collinsville, MS and he retired with the City of Meridian after 23 years of service.

Al lived his faith daily and always took pleasure in sharing Christ with others. One of his favorite jobs was when he would dress as Santa Clause and share the Christmas Story with children and adults alike. Al loved people and his family. He was a long-standing member at Providence Missionary Baptist Church before his health prevented him from attending.

Al is survived by his children, Dee Bethany, Faye Lewis, James Harrison and his wife Debbie, Robert Harrison and his wife Lori, Tammy Harrison, Robert Lee Harrison and his fiancée Tina Peterson, 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 9 great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline, two sons, Albert Ray and John Albert, Jr., sisters Audrey, Evelyn, brothers Donald and Kenneth.
