John Charles Lunsford, Jr

     Services for John Charles Lunsford, Jr, will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-North, located at 7774 Highway 39 North, Meridian, Mississippi.

     John Charles Lunsford, Jr, passed away unexpectedly on November 9, 2023, in Collinsville, Mississippi. 

     John was born to John Charles Lunsford, Sr, and Emma Sue (Clayburg) Lunsford on October 6, 1963, in Houston, Texas.  After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served on the Tactical Air Command.  While serving his country, John received several commendations such as the Good Conduct Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon, and decorated as an Expert M-16 Rifleman. 

     He is preceded in death by his parents; both maternal and paternal grandparents; sisters, Reba Gail Davis and Yolanda Sue Bush; grandson, Wesley Cash Barrier; and nephew, Kennon Lawson.

     John is survived by his wife of 24 years, Pamela Ann (Roche) Lunsford; daughters, Elizabeth (Ashley) Barrier, Christina (Brian “G”) Taylor, and RoNeshia “Bugs” Brown; brother, Stephen Michael Lunsford; sisters, Phrona “Dirty Gertie” M. Glass and Laura Ann Smith; and his grandchildren, K’Dyn Brown, Ada Marie Taylor, Ma’Karii Pinkston, and Lucas Brian Taylor; as well as several nieces and nephews.

     Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-North from 11 AM to 1 PM.  The funeral service will take place immediately after visitation in the chapel, with Rev. Greg Mangum officiating the ceremony.

     Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen, Brian, Chris, Nik, Tyler, and Darell.
