Julia Chambers

Funeral services for Julia Gibson Chambers will be Monday, November 4, 2019 at 11:00am at Stephens Funeral Home in Meridian, with interment to follow at Freedom Baptist ChurchCemetery. Rev. Sherrie Lindley will be officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Chambers, 88, died Friday, November 1, 2019 at Rush Foundation Hospital.

Julia loved the Lord and reading her Bible like it was nobody’s business. She enjoyed music and played the piano by ear. She was a conversationalist and could talk with anyone about anything. She never met a stranger. Another of her favorite things to do was drinking coffee and playing cards with her best friend who was also her sister-in-law, Claire Chambers.

She is survived by a daughter Judy Gilmer; a son Tony Thompson, a daughter Tammie Dunn (Johnny), 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents Aaron and Verdie Gibson, 3 sisters, 1 brother, her husband Donnie Chambers, a son Mike Thompson, a grandson Matthew Thompson and a son-in-law John Gilmer.
