Mrs. Katherine Virginia Saunders Currie

Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Virginia Saunders Currie will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 10:00 am at Gravedside with Bro. Jim McQuarry officiating. Interment will be held in Scooba Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Currie, age 92, formerly of Scooba, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 in Newton, Mississippi. She was a true God given Christian and a Southern Belle. She graduated from the University of Southern Misssissippi. She taught in many schools in Mississippi and belonged to various educational societies and sororities, especially Sigma Sigma Sigma.

She is survived by two nieces, Sandra Sibley and Jane Faye Morgan; numerous other nieces and nephews; A very special goddaughter, Charlotte Densmore and her husband Ken; god-grandchildren, Brett and Christi Bennett, Corbie Nelson, Lexi McElhenney, David Nelson and Jagger Bennett. She is also survived by two great grandchildren and one granddaughter, Kim Boggs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Keyes T. Currie Sr.; Son, Keyes T. Currie II; Daughter, Mellie Ruth Currie; and two brothers, Jesse E. Saunders and J.P. Jimbo Saunders.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 25, 2008 from 5 - 7 pm at Webb Funeral Home.
