Kathryn Boyette

June 6, 1960 — January 5, 2020

Kathryn died on January 5, 2020 at Regency Hospital in Meridian. She had a short illness after suffering complications for treatment for cancer. Kathryn to acquaintances; Kathy to very close family; Kitty to grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and Boyette to colleagues, she answered to most.  Whatever you chose to call her, she would tell you she loved to teach. She attended local schools and the University of Southern Mississippi where she obtained a master’s degree in School Counseling. Her health prevented her from teaching for the last few years of her life.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Boyette, who she met in college; son, Adam Boyette (Jennifer); grandchildren, Addison and Hannah, who she loved from the moment she heard they would be born; sisters, Vicki Whitlock (Dennis) and Rebecca Giese (Mark); nieces, Katelyn Moffett (Jesse), Olivia Wright (Randall), and Christina Benson; nephew, Scott Benson (Kimberly); great nephews, Smith and Whit Moffett, and Holden Benson; great niece, Allison Ricks; her childhood best friend and best friend forever, Annette Henderson; and many students from the Enterprise Elementary School.

She is preceded in death by her son, Aaron Matthew Boyette; and parents, Ralph and Dot Smith.

A memorial service will be held for Kathryn Wednesday, January 8th, 2:30 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Sikes officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to service at the church. A private family interment will take place at Sageville United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include her colleagues, Cindy Weathers, Kim Tvarkunas, Tracy Melton, and Carol Watson.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to be made to American Cancer Society, March of Dimes, or Grace Fellowship Baptist Church.

Family and friends may sign the online register at www.jamesfwebb.com.
