Keith Alan Ponds

Keith Alan Ponds, a dedicated and accomplished individual, passed away on January 18, 2024, in Meridian, Mississippi. Born on October 18, 1956, Keith led a fulfilling life filled with notable achievements and contributions.

Keith was an excellent student, performing so well on the ACT he was retested for accuracy. He chose to pursue higher education at Mississippi State, despite receiving a full scholarship offer from Ole Miss. From then on, he was a lifelong Bulldog.

Keith's professional journey was diverse and marked by significant accomplishments. He moved to Houston to enter the energy and manufacturing industry. Through his dedication and expertise, he built a long career in this sector as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) supporting organizations through several major growth periods and transactions. Keith's entrepreneurial spirit also shone brightly when he collaborated with his wife Kathryn to establish and manage Kathy's Heart, a beloved gift store, and later when he owned and operated a convenience store in Tennessee.

Beyond the realm of work, Keith was an industrious handyman with an entrepreneurial flair. He delighted in crafting various home improvements and creating small products for Kathy's Heart. Keith's curious mind led him to pursue auctions and other marketplaces where he found opportunities for financial gain or novelty.

Intellectual curiosity drove Keith throughout his life as evidenced by his love for reading. Consuming several hundred pages each week across various genres. Additionally, Keith displayed a sharp interest in current events and was happy to share his well-informed views in reasoned discussion.

Keith was a faithful husband and family man helping care for the health and finances of his immediate and extended family. He enjoyed travelling, taking a year to live in Alaska and enjoying cruises around the Caribbean.

Keith will be dearly missed by those closest to him. He is survived by his loving wife Kathryn Ponds, sons Devon and Brett Ponds, stepson Chase Van Meter, brother Kevin Ponds, as well as Mother Marilynn Ponds. Preceded in death by his father Jesse Ponds and brother Kelly. To them and all who had the privilege of knowing Keith, we offer our deepest condolences during this difficult time.

Keith Alan Ponds leaves behind a remarkable legacy of hard work, dedication, and entrepreneurial spirit. His contributions to various industries and his commitment to personal growth serve as an inspiration to all. May his compassionate soul rest in eternal peace.
