Services for Butch Boren will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021, 10:30 a.m., at Oak Grove (Bonita) Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Harrell officiating. Visitation will be Friday, June 11, 2021 from 5 - 8 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home and also from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church. Interment will be in Oak Grove Church Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is honored to assist the family during this time of need.
Lamar “Butch” Boren passed away in his home Sunday, June 6, 2021 surrounded by his family. Butch is a life long resident of Meridian, MS. He retired from the Mississippi Forestry Commission. Butch also ran the Honey Suckle Farm for 20 years owned by Sela Ward. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, and a active member of Farm Bureau, and served on the Board for many years. Butch was a true “Cowboy” through and through. He loved rodeoing in his younger days, horse back riding, hunting and farming.
Butch is survived by his loving wife Dianne Boren of 26 plus years. Butch & Dianne had known each other since they were teenagers and married in 1995; his mother Marie Boren of Meridian. Stepson’s Rusty (Brandi) McMahan of Pascagoula, Hawk Weir of Lucedale, Mike (Tiffany) Rice of Meridian, Stepdaughters, Brandy (Sam) Parker and Bridget Rogers both of Pascagoula; 14 surviving Grandchildren; Carlyle Rogers, Chelsea Rogers, Cherish (Adam) Burnnet, SJ (Mia) Parker, Luke Parker, Jacob Coe, Savannah Coe, Kendall McMahan, Kyli Weier, Chance Weier, Hunter Morris, Grayson Morris, Colbie Rice, Brynnlee Rice; 2 Great Grandchildren, Grayson & Lawson Burnett. Butch is also survived by his 5 siblings, Bennie (Rhonda) Boren of Gulfport, Brenda McIntyre of Pearl, Cathy (Lynn) Pratt of Meridian, Donna (Ron) Duckworth of Meridian, and Amy Parker of Ocean Springs, and several nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family. The family would also like to recognize and thank Butch’s long time best friend Charles Speed for all the help, love and support he has given to Butch and the family over the years and during this challenging time.
Butch is preceded in Death by his Paternal Grandparents, Att & Betty Boren; Maternal Grandparents, Bennie & Louise West; His father, Att Boren, and Grandson Matthew Parker.
