Larry Wayne Smith

     Larry Wayne Smith, of Meridian, Mississippi passed away on November 2, 2023, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Mississippi.

     Larry was born to Ulmer Smith and Ruby Lee (Jenkins) Massey on May 20, 1960, in Meridian, Mississippi.  He will be remembered by his brothers as being a “great big brother”, a good man, and as the oldest of the brothers, their “rock”.  Larry loved spending his time camping for months at a time, especially at Clarkco State Park.  His brothers fondly remember his love for cooking, which came from their mother, Mrs. Ruby Lee.  They recall one of his best dishes being his signature Cordon bleu. 

     Larry is survived by his brothers, Keith (Tina) Smith, Gary (Lisa) Smith, Jeff (Tracie) Smith and stepbrother Scott Massey; sister, Beth Massey; his eight nieces, Ashley, Rikee, Santana, Brittany, Kelsie, Bama, Shannon, and Tiffany; his four nephews, Josh, Travis, Art, and Shawn; along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

     He is preceded in death by his mother Ruby Lee Jenkins Massey; his father Ulmer Smith; stepfather Homer Earl Massey; and his uncle Billy Gene Jenkins.

     Visitation for Larry will be held Monday, November 6, 2023, from 11-12pm Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-North located at 7774-A Highway 39 North, Meridian, Mississippi.  The funeral service will be in the chapel immediately following the visitation, with Bro. Chuck Overby officiating.  Burial will take place at Meehan Baptist Church Cemetery located at 3115 Suqualena Meehan Road South, Meridian, Mississippi.

     Members of Larry’s family will serve as pallbearers for his service: Josh, Travis, Alex, Keith, Gary, Jeff, and Danny.
