Leonard R. Shorty Withers

Services for Leonard R. Shorty Withers will be held Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 58 pm at James F. Webb Funeral Home.

Mr. Withers, 68, of Meridian, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at his residence. He was a retired truck driver with Yellow Freight Company and a member of the Teamsters. He was known as a hard worker and will be remembered as a great father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Withers daughters, Angela Smith and Amy Withers grandchildren, Joshua Kell, Ryan Kell, and Ciera Scruggs great grandchildren, Tamara Johnson, Alicia Kell, Gracie Watson, and Jayden Dominguez sisters, Glennie Ziller of Meridian and Lupe Covert of North Carolina and a brother, Johnnie Withers of Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Richard D. Withers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association or St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
