A Celebration of Life Service for Lewis Wayne Eldridge, 77, will be held Monday, May 23, 2022, at 11:00am, at New Hope United Methodist Church. Brothers Randy Caldwell and John Cash will be officiating. Visitation will be Sunday night, May 22, from 5 to 8pm at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home in Dekalb. Mr. Eldridge died May 20, 2022, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 55 years, Connie Harbour Eldridge; his children Dawn McDonald (Lee) of Preston, Stacey Parker of Dekalb, and Dudley Eldridge (Shelli) of Dekalb; his grandchildren Colby Sanderford (Kelsey) of Philadelphia, Tyler Sanderford (Ashley) of Dekalb, Dalton Sanderford of Preston, Carter Mosley of Dekalb, Sidney Clay (Zac) of Dekalb, Taylor Card (Jeremy) of Nanih Waiya, Dalton Thomas (Mabry) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Cole Thomas and Brody Thomas of Scooba; 13 great grandchildren; a sister Norma Sue Krapac, along with loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Frances Eldridge.
He was a life-long resident of Kemper County. He was born August 4, 1944, at home in Kemper County. He was the owner of The Ponderosa Processing Plant and an accomplished carpenter. He enjoyed taking care of his cows and playing his guitar at Sciple’s Mill on Saturday nights. He was a life-time member of New Hope United Methodist Church. He was the youngest member, and his grandfather was the oldest member to drive a nail in the church when it was built. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.
