Mrs. Lucile Chandler Hall Reeves

Services for Mrs. Lucile Chandler Hall Reeves will be held on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 11:00 AM, at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel in Meridian with Dr. Raymon Leake officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, March 27,2009 at Webb Funeral Home from 9 AM until 11 AM. Interment will be at Magnolia Cemetery and James F. Webb Funeral Home in Meridian is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Reeves, 93, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2009 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Mrs. Reeves was born June 10, 1915 to Walter and Cora Johnson in Suqualena, MS. She graduated from Suqualena High School in 1934. After she married Jim Chandler, the moved to Vicksburg, MS where she continued her career in cosmetology with Hunters Beauty Salon. During World War II they moved to New York where Jim worked on the Manhattan Project. After the war they returned to Vicksburg where they raised their sons, and she was very active in the First Baptist Church. In 1969, Lucile married Wood Hall, and they enjoyed nine wonderful years. At the age of 68, she married Bill Reeves , a former classmate. They made their home in Meridian, where they were faithful members of First Baptist Church. After Bills death in 2005, Lucile moved to the Home Place in Madison, MS to be near her son and his family. Her family describes Lucile as having a loving spirit and deep abiding faith-a truly beautiful person who shares and cares. She was a light and inspiration for everyone.

She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Chandler and his wife Karen of Madison, MS and Paul Chandler and his wife Lori of Plano, TX; one sister, Dr. Sula Johnson Marsalis and her husband Wilton of Meridian, MS; stepdaughter, Sandra Holton of Meridian; Stepsons, Billy Reeves of Port OConner, TX and Eugene Hall of Vicksburg, MS. Grandmother leaves behind four grandchildren, Kim Chandler Moss and her husband Clayton of Gulf Breeze, FL; Dr. Kevin Chandler of Jackson, MS; Beckett Chandler and Alexa Chandler McMillan of Plano, TX. She is also survived by five great grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren and several step-great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation to her special friends, Oria Bush and Maxine George for their love and care for Grandmother.

Mrs. Reeves is preceded in death by her husbands, Bill Reeves, Wood Hall and Jim Chandler; her parents; her brothers, Homer, Lamar, Mortimer, and Mart Johnson; and her sisters, Lurline Cook, Lillian Rhodes, and Zula Williamson.
