Lyda Wyche

Funeral services for Lyda Wyche will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Webb & Stephens – North, with visitation being from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Bro. Roger Burke will officiate and burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Webb & Stephens – North is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Wyche, age 93, of DeKalb, passed away May 16, at Mississippi Care Center of DeKalb.

Lyda loved nature and especially gardening. She was a very active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, where she held many roles, including playing piano and teaching children’s classes. Lyda had a servants heart and loved to help anyone in need, oftentimes helping in ways no one knew about.

Lyda is survived by her children, James Albert “Jimmy” Wyche Jr and his wife, Jayne, and Kim Lovette and her husband, Greg; grandchildren, Nick Wyche and his wife, Suzanne and Betsy Brown and her husband, Justin; great-grandchildren, Griffin Brown, Adelyn Brown, Lochlan Brown and Corinne Brown, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Albert Wyche Sr; parents, Carey and Mittie Merrill; sister, Barbara Goodman.

Pallbearers will be Justin Brown, Griffin Brown, Nick Wyche, Craig Voineag, Cody McElroy and Jay McElroy. Honorary pallbearer will be Lochlan Brown.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude and thanks to the nurses and CNA’s at Mississippi Care Center of DeKalb for the kind and compassionate care given to Lyda, as well as her family.
