Madis Limerick Covington Retired Lunchroom Supervisor and Nurses Aide

Services for Madis Limerick Covington will be held Monday, July 26, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church with the Revs. Stan Cheatham, and Tom Belcher officiating. Visitation 1 hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the church Cemetery.

Mrs. Covington went to meet her Lord and Savior at the age of 92 on July 23, 2010 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on May 20, 1918 to Levi and Ruby Limercik in Neshoba County. She met and married Sam Covington of the Zero Community and they celebrated over 54 years of marriage together. She will be remembered as one who loved her family, friends, and her church where she served in several capacities. At the time of her death she was the oldest member of her church. She also enjoyed working in her yard and garden.

She is survived by her daughters Audrey Covington Griffin and her husband Bobby, Janette Covington Griffith all of Meridian. Grandchildren Wendy Shirley, Billy, Randy and Danny Griffin, Brian Griffith and wife Rhonda, Amanda Doggett, Jill Walsh all of Meridian, and Jeff Walsh and his wife Jennifer of New Hampshire. Great grandchildren Stephen and Timothy Shirley, Amy Gist, Will, Cody, Jonathan and Caleb Griffin, Blake and Julie Griffith, Makinzey Doggett, and Zakary Monsour all of Meridian, Ashlynn and Elizabeth Walsh of New Hampshire. Great great Gandchild Brayden Shirley.

She was the eldest of 10 children and survived by sisters Gladys Null of Missouri, Ellen Wilkerson, Magaret Whitlock, Dorothy Collins and husband Bennie, Joyce Drachenberg and husband Richard, all of Meridian, Faye Webb and husband Harvey of Cuba, a brother Lynn Limerick and wife Linda of Meridian and sisterinlaw Lou Ella Limerick of Bailey. Numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Sam Covington, daughter June Covington, parents Levi and Ruby Limerick, a sister Mary Lou Tice and brother John Limerick.

Pallbearers are nephews, Zena Limerick, Danny Morgan, Michael Webb, Craig Drachenberg, Dennis Whitlock and great great nephew Parker McWhirter.

Honorary Pallbears are: Dwight Covington, and David Covington.
