Mae Creel

Funeral services for Mae Carolyn Creel will be held Thursday at 2pm in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Trosper will be officiating. Burial will follow in Meehan Cemetery.

Ms. Creel, 80, of Meridian, passed away Monday at Bedford Care of Marion. She was retired as a waitress. Ms. Creel will be remembered as a kind, caring soul who always saw the best in everyone. She enjoyed her job as a waitress where she got to meet new people and see her friends and regular customers. Ms. Creel loved to work in her yard and loved her dogs. The true love of her life was her family.

She is survived by her children Denise Reece and husband Kevin, Dewayne Warren, Johnnie Warren and wife Dana, Connie Hill and husband Dale, Teresa Holifield, Margaret Long and husband Terry, Sandra Ham and husband Tony; sisters Peggy Harris and Linda Bell along with her brother Wayne Hogg.  She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Carroll and Elsie Margaret Hogg; sons Samuel Warren and Daniel Warren.

Pallbearers will be David Sumrall, Allen Holifield, Michael Warren, Noah Warren, Rick Hill and Matt Warren. Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Lawson, Anthony Lawson and Chris Holifield.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12pm to 2pm on Thursday.
