Services for Mrs. Margaret Anne Gore Harrison will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2020 with Dr. Nathan VanHorn officiating.
Mrs. Harrison, 68, of Meridian, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She had retired from the Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Library in 2018, where she had served as Director, Children's Librarian, and assistant Director. She won several national awards during her career. She had also worked in the dean's office at MSU-Meridian for 12 years. She was an avid reader and loved shopping with her daughter and husband. They would take day trips and called them "plundering". She also loved doing arts and crafts.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 41 years, Bennie Harrison; by an amazing and brilliant daughter, Anna Alyssa Harrison and her fiance David Jackson; by a brother, Kenneth Taylor (Martha); by a brother in law, Tommy Harrison (Judy); numerous nieces and nephews; and by two precious lifelong friends, Bobbie Brown and Lynn Compton.
She was preceded by her parents, Mildred and Robert Gore; and by a precious friend, Melba Wesson.
Pallbearers are Robert Compton, George Hill, Gaines Harroll, Leonard Cobb, Dan Wesson, Chad Harrison, and Larry Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger and Michael Taylor.
Family requests to please make donations to 1st Baptist Church of Meridian or to Wounded Warriors, in her name.
