Marianne Thrash

    Marianne Thrash, 65, of Meridian, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Trend Health & Rehab of Meridian.  

    Marianne was born to Edward and Hazel (Broadway) Thrash on September 24, 1958, in Meridian, Mississippi.  Her family remembers her as having a “true servant’s heart” and how she faithfully helped those in need whenever she could.  She spent many years sitting with the elderly residents of Fisher House as well as cooking for the children of the Mustard Seed Daycare.  She later retired from Southeast High School where she worked in the cafeteria.  

     Marianne was a daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, beloved aunt and friend who loved everyone.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.  She enjoyed needle work, reading, fishing and camping with her family, and as always, doing for others.

     Marianne is preceded in death by her parents; her son, James Edward Stokley; and her baby brother, Dennis Ray Thrash.

     She is survived by her son, Dustin Stokley (Misty); daughter-in-law, Shannon Stokley; sister, Kathy Riley (Kenny); brother, Bruce Thrash (Tresa); grandchildren, Jay Stokley, Zach Stokley, Austin Stokley, Savannah Stokley, and Hunter Ray Stokley; great-grandchild, Petyn Reign Harper; along with numerous nieces and one nephew.

     A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-North, located at 7774 Hwy 39 N, Meridian, Mississippi, beginning at 2pm, with Bro. Scott Crenshaw officiating.  There will be a visitation for family and friends to gather one hour prior to the service.

     The family would like to give special thanks to the Gentiva Hospice staff, the staff of Fresenius Kidney Care of Meridian, and to the staff of Trend Health & Rehab for their special love and care they gave to Marianne and her family.
