MERIDIAN On Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, Marion O. Murray passed from this earthly life to her Heavenly home where she was greeted by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Also welcoming her home are her mother Iva Watkins Adkins Murray, her father Vernon Wood Adkins, step father Witt Murray, brother Vernon Wood Adkins Jr., her son Michael Murray, granddaughters Dica Leigh Cleveland Baker and Michelle Newbill and great great grandchild Aiden Gardner.
Marion was a loving and devoted mother to her daughters, Sharon Diane Langston, Jackie Poythress, Cindy Jarman spouse, Robert and son, Charles Witt Murray.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Jessica Jarman, Kristen Jarman Gortney, Meagan Murray and Jeremiah Colwell 14 great grandchildren, and her two great great grandchildren.
Born in Meridian on June 15, 1921, Marion loved to travel. She spent several years working at the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone National Park where she made many lifelong friends. Traveling to craft fairs to exhibit her handmade items was one of her favorite past times. She was proficient in any medium, painting, crewel work, paper crafts and cake decorating, to name a few.
She will always be remembered as a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her loving spirit, infectious laughter and eagerness to comfort anyone in need will leave a lasting legacy.
A celebration of life will be held in the chapel of Webb Funeral Home on Friday at 2 p.m. officiated by Ramond Beaver. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service. A graveside service will follow at New Hope Baptist Church, Highway 145 South.
Pallbearers will be Otis Coleman, Jeremy Gortney, Mitch Hester, Kenny Hester, Scott Causey, Jeff Lindsey, Murphy Culpepper, and Lee Broadfoot.
