Martha Talbert

Funeral services for Martha Talbert will be held Sunday at 2pm at Gum Log Primitive Baptist Church in Bailey. Rev. Kyle Naylor will be officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery. Stephens Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Talbert, 79, of Bailey, entered her eternal home on Thursday. She was a homemaker and early in her adult years served as a physical education teacher at West Lauderdale School.
Ms. Talbert will be remembered as a gentle soul, free loving spirit who loved music, animals and flowers. A very creative and talented lady, she enjoyed dancing to her favorite music, playing her guitar and harmonica. She was a longtime member of Gum Log Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons Greg Hodges and wife Joy, Mac Hodges and wife Whitney, Adam Hodges and wife Laura; grandchildren Brandyn Gross and wife Becca, Tabitha Barrow and husband Brenan, Tanner Hodges and wife Bethany, Lauren Pogue and husband Jeremy, Patrick Hodges and wife Gabie, Nathan Hodges, Montgomery Campbell, Clair Campbell, Zoe Hodges, Katie Rush, Sally Rush and Benjamin Rush. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
Ms. Talbert was preceded in death by her parents W.T. "Trick" Talbert and Edna Talbert and her loving sister Gloria Hughes.
Pallbearers will be Brandyn Gross, Tanner Hodges, Nathan Hodges, Patrick Hodges, Montgomery Campbell, Nathan Bailey and Brenan Barrow.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials in Ms. Talbert's name be made to Gum Log Primitive Baptist Church, P.O. Box 154, Bailey, MS 39320.
Visitation will be held at Stephens Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 5pm to 7pm.
