Funeral services for Mary Louise Shirley Culpepper will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at New Hope Baptist Church on Highway 145 with Reverend Doug Goodman and Reverend Mike Everett officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Webb and Stephens Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Culpepper, 95, of Meridian passed away on July 21, 2023 at her residence. Louise was a nurse and store owner(Louise’s Grocery) and will be remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was looking forward to welcoming her first great, great grandchild in December. She was a life long member of New Hope Baptist Church. She enjoyed her fellowship with the Dot Martin Sunday School class.
She is survived by her children; Jimmy Culpepper(Judy), Sue Followay, Frances Moffett(Cotton), and Cindy Walker(Glenn); grandchildren, Ryan Culpepper(Katie), LeAnn Oliver(Michael), Stacy Allen(Patrick), Kim Smith(Tommy), Jamie Followay (Keely), Jeremy Moffett(Katie), Chris Moffett(Stacy), Joshua White, Glenn Walker(Dawn), Amanda Walker, and Matt Walker(Emily); granddaughter-in-law, Angela Culpepper; 22 great grandchildren; beloved sister-in-law, Bobbie Ann Walker; many nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family members.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, James Culpepper Sr; parents, Robert G. Shirley and Mary Ila Dunnam Shirley; brothers, Frank Shirley, Martin Shirley, Houston Shirley, Leo Shirley, and Rex Shirley; sister, Desma Tims; grandson, Colonel Rob Culpepper; and son-in-law, Eddie Followay.
Pallbearers will include Ryan Culpepper, Jamie Followay, Jeremy Moffett, Chris Moffett, Joshua White, Keaton Smith, Jack Allen, and Gavin Moffett; honorary pallbearers will be Tripp Moffett, Eli Moffett, and Ethan Moffett; and heavenly honorary pallbearer will be Colonel Rob Culpepper.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to New Hope Baptist Church or the Gideons.
