Mary Hill

Services for Mary Avenelle Hill will be held Friday, March 3, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-Downtown with Dr. Larry Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Hill, 101, of Meridian, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Beford Care Center of Marion.

Avenelle was a longtime member of Poplar Spring Baptist Church and loved her Lord dearly. She was a very faithful and loving wife to her husband during their union of 36 years and was very family oriented. She also enjoyed traveling and seeing new things. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her sons, Danny Hill (Gaye) and Dr. Larry Hill (Adriana); grandchildren, Michael, Michelle, Lauren, Amber, and Kristin; 8 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; and brother, Ted Eaves.

She is preceded in death by her husband William “Bubba” Edward Hill; parents, Calvin Buck Eaves and Minnie Lee Whitehead; and brother, Lamar Eaves.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Bedford Care Center of Marion and Hospice Compassus for the care they showed Mrs. Avenelle.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to service at the funeral home.
