Mary Mcdonald

Funeral services for Mary Nell McDonald, 89, will be held Friday, February 8, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Raymon Leake and Rev. Paul McDonald officiating. Visitation will be held Friday beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in New Bethel Cemetery in Clarke County.

Mrs. McDonald passed away on February 6, 2008, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Silver Creek, Mississippi and graduated from M.S.C.W. with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She taught in Jackson, MS until her marriage to the late I.W. McDonald, her husband of forty five years. She later taught for many years in Meridian at Highland and Poplar Springs elementary schools. Mrs. McDonald was a long time member of the Meridian Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. McDonald was a devoted member of First Baptist Church for over sixty years where she taught the four year old Sunday School Class. She was a faithful member of the WMU, working with their mission to Love's Kitchen.

She is survived by three daughters; Mary Elizabeth McDonald; Catherine McDonald Strong and her husband Mike; Carol Basalyga and her husband Frank. three grandchildren, McDonald Strong, John Paul Strong, and Abby Basalyga.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Irving Winfield McDonald, her parents Dr. and Mrs. B.S. Waller, her brother, Dr. John William Waller and his wife Doris.

Donations may be made to First Baptist Church, or to Love's Kitchen.
