Mary Eileen ORorke Soule
Services for Mary Eileen ORorke Soule will be held Monday, November 17th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Patricks Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Francis Cosgrove officiating. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Soule, 97, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at R. P. White Nursing Center. Born on September 10, 1917 in Meridian, Mississippi, she was the daughter of Emit J. and Nell Perry ORorke. Mrs. Soule was a lifelong member of St. Patricks Catholic Church and she was educated by the nuns of the Catholic school. Following in the footsteps of her musically gifted siblings, Mrs. Soule was a wellknown vocalist, performing with numerous popular dance bands throughout Mississippi during the late 1930s and early 1940s. After her marriage to G. H. Hal Soule she continued to entertain as a soughtafter soloist at weddings in the Meridian area.
Survivors include her son, George H. Soule, Jr., a beloved grandson, George H. Trey Soule, III, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Mrs. Soule was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, G. H. Hal Soule, her daughter Mary Eileen and twin daughters Charlotte and Susan, who died in infancy, her sisters Marcelle Brennan, Helen Swann, Bickel ORorke, Jeanne Nelson, Nina Moss and her brother Emit C. ORorke.
Pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus.
Visitation will be from 5:00 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening at Webb Funeral Home.
