Services for Mrs. Mary Winner Dudley will be held Monday, June 3, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. William Yount officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery with immediate family attending.

Mrs. Dudley, 85, of DeKalb, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Noxubee General Hospital in Macon, MS.

Mary attended DeKalb Elementary and graduated from DeKalb High School. She then went on to East Mississippi Community College and Livingston College (West Alabama), graduating from both and obtaining her bachelor’s degree in education. She also attended Mississippi State University for a time where she worked toward her graduate studies.

She taught elementary at Lynville School, DeKalb Elementary, and Kemper Academy, where she also served as the elementary principal.

Mary enjoyed reading, cooking, shopping, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Outside of her family, her heart belonged to her teaching career and DeKalb Presbyterian Church, where she was a lifelong member.

She is survived by her children, Melinda Brown (Bill) and Michael Dudley (Sheila); grandchildren, Ross Brown (Lauren), Reid Brown (Jessica), Austin Dudley (Morgan), and Barrett Dudley (Tori); great grandchildren, Ann Rivers Brown, Collins Brown, Mary Hampton Brown, and Virginia Dudley; brother, Richard Poole (Mary Lou); and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jack Lewis Dudley; and parents, Francis Marion and Ellen Newell Skipper Poole.
