Mr. Smith, 83, of Meridian, passed away Friday at his residence. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and worked for Orkin for a long time. He retired as a carpenter in the construction industry. Mr. Smith was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children Cathy Atkison (Tommy), Mike Smith, Retha Diane Pogue and Kenny Lamar Smith (Cindy). Mr. Smith is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Menton Smith and Gertrude Shadows Smith and his wife Betty Jo Smith.
