Mrs. Muriel Marie Moorman Prather

Funeral services for Mrs. Muriel Marie Moorman Prather will be held Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Davey Wilkinson officiating. Burial will be at Lauderdale Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Prather, 85, died on Monday, April 19, 2010 at her home in Meridian. She was a member of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church and the Lydia Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Mississippi Power Company Short Circuit Retiree Club. She will remain in our hearts as a loving mother, wife and friend.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Prather Sparks her son, David Paul Prather and his wife Pamela Wadsworth Prather her grandson, Christopher Lee Cornett and his wife Tammy and her granddaughter, Keating Elizabeth Prather her Great Grand Children, Olivia Grace Cornett and Cooper Hayes Cornett, all of Meridian, MS. She is also survived by her brother, Jacob Jack A. Moorman Jr. and his wife Carol and several nieces and nephews and a very special cousin Margie Campbell.


She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Henry Raymon Prather her parents, Jacob Albert Moorman Sr. and Bessie Ratcliff Moorman and two sisters, Thelma Moorman Hatcher and Rosalie Moorman.

Pallbearers will be Tim Dillard, Raymond Pugh, Edwin Owen, Kenneth Stokes, Grover Eakes, Bernice Davis, Earl Hoven, and Jack McMullen.
Honorary pallbearer will be Phil Davis.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 21, 2010 from 5 8 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Lauderdale United Methodist ChurchMission Fund.
