Memorial services for Nena Steelman will be held Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11:00am at Hawkins United Methodist Church with Rev. Dale Moore officiating. A reception to follow immediately after the service. James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Steelman, 85, passed away at her home on Thursday, June 7, 2018. She graduated from Meridian High School in 1950. She relocated to Houston, Texas a few years later and worked at the Houston School District for over 27 years in the Psychological Testing Division. After retirement she and her sister Sarah moved back to Meridian and enjoyed their twilight years back home with their many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Nathan Wayne and Julia Hodges Steelman; and her beloved sister, Sarah Steelman; her aunts, Clara Lawrence, Edna Shoemate and Lorene Talton and her uncles, Vernon Steelman, Loyd Steelman and Chester Steelman.
Nena is survived by her first cousin, Jerry Nathan Steelman (Pam) of Atlanta and a number of second cousins.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the primary caregivers, Bobbie McDonald and Donna Rollins.
