A visitation for Ms. Norma J. Hunt will be held Tuesday, February 26th, 1:00-3:00 p.m., at James F. Webb Funeral Home.
Norma J. Hunt, age 94, who died February 22, 2019 at The Oaks, was born in August 1924 in McCool, MS, the youngest child of Sam and Annie Hunt. After graduation from high school in the early 1940's, she moved to Meridian, MS to attend business school and work as a bookkeeper.
She worked at Aden Mills until they closed in the 1960's, the went to Magnolia Mills, where she worked as a bookkeeper and store clerk until the firm went out of business. She attended Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church in Meridian for many years, assisting with accounting duties on Sunday mornings.
After retirement, she enjoyed working with her many plants and flowers and keeping her yard in top shape, along with watching and feeding birds. She loved shopping, keeping up with her many nieces and nephews, and reading celebrity biographies.
Surviving her are nieces and nephews, including Dawn and Donna Turnipseed of Meridian; Carolyn Black of McCool; Marilyn O' Briant of Louisville; Ann Rone of Ethel; Dan Hunt of McCool; Joe Hunt of McCool; Dale Hunt of McCool; Pam Maddox of West; Tim Hunt of McCool; Wendell Morgan of Weir; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents and siblings.
The family would like to thank The Oaks and Hospice Compassus for taking very good care of her during her long illness.
