Norman Beitzel

Services for Norman “Lil Papaw” Beitzel will be Thursday, August 22nd, 12:00 p.m., at James F. Webb Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Meridian Memorial Park.

Mr. Beitzel, 77, of Meridian, passed away Monday at his residence.

Norman retired from the Navy as an air traffic controller after 33 years. He also served as a firefighter at the Meridian Naval Air Station. His next adventure was the TA truck stop in Russel, where he spent 20 years in the service department. After retiring from the truck stop, he then went to United Blood Services for 7 years.He will be most remembered for being a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Mona Beitzel; children, Quinton Beitzel, Lisa White (Chris), Robin Howell (David), and Joey Garrett; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and two siblings.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Ashley Garrett and Johnathan Mars; and three siblings.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to service at the funeral home.
