Paul Rainer

Mr. Paul E. Rainer Sr., 72, of Meridian, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be held this Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm at Stephen’s Funeral Home and graveside services will be held Thursday at 11am at Long Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Marty Harper will be officiating. Stephen’s Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Paul graduated from Southeast Lauderdale High School in 1967. He married his wife of 53 years and then was drafted into the Vietnam War for which he served from 1968-1969. He then attended college at MCC and MSU. He worked at Webster Chain Company and then Saunders Manufacturing as a Plant Manager. He loved God, Family and Country. He will be remembered most by being a devoted husband, loving Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Uncle and Brother.

Paul is survived by his wife Pamela M. Rainer, Children: Paulette Armes (Tristian); Paul Rainer Jr.; Paula Mae Thornton (Jimmy); Pamela Simcox (Billy); Preston Rainer (Jennifer); Priscilla Mathis (Joseph); and Pauline Kay Boren (Kevin). His 24 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren. Brothers: Charles Rainer, James Rainer, and Jackie Rainer. Sister: Shirley Hammer.

Paul was preceded in death by his Mother Rhoda Lee Rainer, Father R. B. Rainer, Sisters: Verna Jean Shelby, Charlotte Voth, Peggy Creed, Patsy Rice and Granddaughter Jessica Lynn Armes.

Pallbearers: Joseph Mathis, Kevin Boren, Jimmy Thornton, Kevin Boren II, Phillip Harrington, and Travis Armes.
