A graveside service for Mr. Ray E. Quimby will be held Sunday, June 14th, 11:00 a.m., at Forest Lawn Memory Garden with Rev. Chuck Overby officiating.
Mr. Quimby, 93, of Meridian, passed away Tuesday, June 9th at the MS Veterans Home in Kosciusko, MS.
Ray started his career in the armed forces with a 3 year stint in the Navy. He then joined the Army where he spent the next 25 years, eventually retiring from the 82nd Airborne. After his military service, he went on to work at Atlas Roofing, where he also retired. He will be remembered most for being a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Quimby McInnis; son, Ray E. Quimby Jr. (Lesia); grandchildren, Major Glen Wayne McInnis II (Ki), Kacy N. Swanner (Chris), Mark Quimby (Cassidy), Chase R. Quimby, Drew Quimby, and Josh Quimby; great grandchildren, Savannah Burch, Rhianna McInnis, Ashley Swanner, Bella Swanner, Brooklyn Quimby, and Miller Quimby; brother, Gary Quimby (Janice); special brother-in-law, Robert Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn Robinson Quimby, mother, Frankie Waltman; father, Burl Quimby; brothers, Woodard, J.C., and Morrel Quimby; and sister, Frances Havens.
