Ray Whitaker

Ray Dennis Whitaker, 79 of Meridian, MS passed from this life to his heavenly home on August 10, 2018.

Visitation will be August 12, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Stephens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on August 13, 2018 with visitation at 1:00 pm and service at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Mt Carmel Cemetery.

Ray was born to Clyde Leroy and Mattie Louise Whitaker on March 21, 1939. He is retired from M & H Valve, Anniston, AL, a Veteran and served in the US Army and a Baptist Minister.

Ray is preceded in death by his late wife, Patricia Ann Whitaker, parents Clyde and Mattie Whitaker, siblings Carlton Whitaker and Wilma Dickerson, child Bryan Smith and a great grandchild Levi Justice Pritchett.

Ray is survived by his spouse Carlee Whitaker, children Cathy Whitaker Gifford, Garry (Trina) Whitaker, Terrie (Chris) Spurlin, Justin (Earon) Smith, grandchildren Christopher (Lori) Pritchett, Jennifer (Henderson) Lamar, Ryan (Laura) Spurlin, Amanda (Clay) Pollard, Molly (Stacey) Langley, Michael (Krystal) Pritchett, Kara (Josh) Shake, Haleigh Hulsey-Whitaker, Kaylee Spurlin, Madison (Chris) Collins, Hunter (Allison) Smith, Campbell (Ethan) Chancey, Ella Kate Smith, Rylee Smith, Ruby Burrell, Noah Burrell, great grandchildren Brynlynn Pollard, Grayson Langley, Liam Pritchett, Gabe Knudsen-Do, Adeline Spurlin, Griffin Spurlin, Jules Rae Shake, Connor Pritchett, Logan Pritchett, Peyton Pritchett, and Anders Collins, siblings Billy (Janelle) Whitaker, Harolyn (Daisy) Whitaker, Ricky (Teresa) Whitaker. And numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Garry Whitaker, Justin Smith, Ryan Spurlin, Michael Pritchett, Chris Pritchett, Steve Whitaker and Howard Whitaker.
