Recia "Polly" Pickard

Services for Recia Paulette “Polly” Pickard will be held Saturday, March 6, 2021, 10:00 a.m., at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. David Pickard and Rev. Justin Fortenberry officiating. Interment will follow at Stinson Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Polly entered in the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. She was met by her mother and father at the pearly gates and they praised our Lord as a family.

She was born on May 25, 1951 in Meridian, MS to Ernest and Edna Pickard. Polly loved going to church, reading her bible, and being a prayer warrior. She dearly loved her church family at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She had a passion for crossword puzzles, the more difficult they were, the more she enjoyed them. She also enjoyed sudoku puzzles. She could pronounce any word; just give her two seconds and she would pronounce it. Her Sunday School class depended on her to pronounce biblical names and cities during their lessons.

She dearly loved her family. She is survived by her brothers, Jackie Pickard, Ray Pickard (Betsy), David Pickard (Kathy); sister, Marie Beatty (Ken); nieces and nephews, Jennifer Webb, Angie Pickard (Trent), Craig Turner, Karen Elmore (John), Josh Beatty (Yara), Mark Quimby (Cassidy), and Laura Pickard; great nieces and nephews, Hogan Turner, Nolan Turner, Preston Webb, Ethan Webb, Jackson Lowe, Audrey Lowe and Miller Quimby.

Pallbearers will include Josh Beatty, Ethan Webb, Preston Webb, Mark Quimby, Trent Blocker, John Elmore, Barry McKissack, and Eric Pickard.

Visitation will be held at the church an hour prior to service.
