Renee Baty Hatcher Loper

Graveside services for Renee Baty Hatcher Loper will be held Monday, July 29, 2024, 11:45 a.m. at Center Ridge Baptist Church cemetery-Dekalb with Bro. Randy Moore officiating and John Harwell assisting. Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-North is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Renee left this earthly life at Ochsner Rush Health, Meridian, MS, surrounded by her family, and we have no doubt that she was welcomed at the Gates of Heaven.

Renee was very proud of her time spent at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, MS, where she served as an admissions clerk, both inpatient and outpatient, and eventually at Same Day Surgery. She always had a smile for the patients she admitted. She made many friends there during her 38-year career, many of whom she stayed in contact with after her retirement. Her true pride and joy were her family, especially her grands. She thoroughly enjoyed every baseball game that she got to watch Luke play. She also loved sharing vegetables from the garden with family and friends. During the last year of her life, due to health constraints, she loved spending her time talking daily with family and friends by phone.

She is survived by her husband, Derrel Loper of Union, MS; sons, Allen Hatcher of Union, MS and Scott Hatcher (Lori) of Meridian, MS; brothers, Jimmy Brantley (Donna) of South Carolina and Shane Baty (Elisa) of DeKalb, MS; sister, Bridget Baty Harwell (John) of Meridian, MS; grandchildren, Carley Monsour, Katelyn Hatcher, and Luke Hatcher; great grandchildren, Tinsley Rose Miles and Macey Cathryn Pittman; brother-in-law, Joel Loper; sister-in-law, Darlene Rigdon; and aunts, Martha Baty Williams of Satsuma, AL and Faye Baty Englett of Spring, TX. She also leaves one nephew, multiple nieces, multiple great nephews and nieces, and many cousins.

Renee is preceded in death by her parents, Ouida Cullum Gilley and Malcom “Mack” Baty; stepmother, Betty Blackledge Baty; grandparents, Frank and Carrie Baty and Elbert and Ouida Cullum; and a very special cousin, Patricia Gilreath Cole.

Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-North the day of service.
