Services for Richard Aaron Smith will be held Friday, August 6, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home with Rev. John Sweeney officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
Smith, 35, of Meridian, passed away Tuesday evening at his residence.
If you knew Aaron, you knew that his life revolved around music, especially the guitar. He was self-taught, gaining an interest for the instrument around age 4. From teaching, customizing, repairing, and refinishing, there was nothing he could not do with a guitar in his hand. Aaron spread his love of music and the guitar to his family and countless friends. He was a familiar face at Meridian Underground Music, where he worked for 5 years. He was also very passionate about cooking, filling his Facebook and other social media pages with his dishes. When he wasn’t cooking or playing guitar, he was fishing. He was an active member in the community and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his parents, Diane Valentine Smith and Ricky Smith (Kim); sisters, Angie Gray (Michael) and Misty McPherson; stepsisters, Amber and Ashley Craven; niece, Kasey Neal; nephews, Alex Gray and Trey Rozier; aunts and uncles, Kay Pate (Linwood), David Valentine (Becky), Ken Valentine (Patsy), Dalton Smith (Toni), and Sherri Wilkerson; and his beloved fur baby, Kuni.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Wilson and Olga Valentine and Richard and Ruth Smith.
Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
