Richard Watkins

Funeral services for Mr. Richard Dick Watkins will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 2:00pm at James F. Webb Chapel with Bro. Kenneth Pogue officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge arrangements.
Mr. Watkins, 85, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Andersons Regional Medical. He was a retired Meridian Police officer. Army and Air National Guard veteran and served in the Korean War. After retirement he enjoyed refinishing gunstocks. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, he loved making his family laugh more than anything.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Louella Watkins; brother, William Bud Watkins; sister, Annie Grace Dial and a daughter, Pamela Snodgrass.
Dick is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret Watkins; daughters: Karen Anderson and Lisa Goforth (Marce); six grandchildren: Katie Mayfield Berberick (Sean), Kevin Goforth (Angela), Stephanie Chatham, Daniel Goforth (Kristin), Brittany Anderson and Tristan Goforth; and eight great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
