Mr. Hodges, 79, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023, in New Orleans, LA.
Rick graduated from Mississippi State University in 1966 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. A talented builder, he spent most of his career developing both commercial and residential real estate projects in New Orleans, LA and Highlands, NC. Rick loved to golf, was an avid reader, and a diehard Saints and MSU fan. Most of all, he cherished time spent with loved ones, especially his grandchildren. As a family, we always knew he would support us through our challenges and celebrate our successes. The absence of his larger-than-life personality will leave a void that will be difficult to fill.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy Allen Hodges; children, Jonathan Allen Hodges (Sarah) and Victoria Hodges Vartanian (Nishan); grandchildren, Benjamin Allen Hodges, Paul Cove Vartanian, and Stella Elizabeth Vartanian; and siblings, Glenda Forgan (Glenn), Randy Hodges (Delaine), and Tammy Naylor (Mark).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm Davis and Earline Herrington Hodges and sibling, Wylie Hodges.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital (https://raise.stjude.org/rlhodges_memory).
