Ricky Dale McGinty, 69, of Enterprise, passed away the evening of Saturday, April 19th, at Baptist Anderson Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Ricky was born to Joe Mack and Geraldine (Hawk) McGinty on July 29, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama. After high school, Ricky enlisted and dedicated most of his life to proudly serving in the United States Air Force. While serving and stationed in Texas, he became a knowledgeable and efficient Aircraft Pneudraulic Systems mechanic, earning the Air Force Longevity Award, Good Conduct Medal, as well as the Air Force Commendation Medal.

Upon transferring from the Texas base to the Meridian base, Ricky would be introduced to the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann Cates. And for 46 years, they have remained inseparable and dedicated to their love and their family. Ricky will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, the greatest papa there ever was, and friend. He had a very gentle soul, and if he loved you, he loved you deeply. He also loved his military family. He was an avid Alabama Football fan and loved to hunt and fish. However, his favorite pastime was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He made sure he was in attendance to all the sporting events and beauty pageants. Ricky’s absence will be greatly felt by all who knew and loved him, but his impact on their lives and his love will not soon be forgotten.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Geraldine McGinty, and his brother, Tommy Joe McGinty.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Elizabeth “Beth” Ann McGinty; his son, Ricky McGinty, Jr (Amanda); his daughters, Donnell McGinty Rogers (Kevin), Etta McGinty Norby (Derek), Nicky McGinty Smith (Jeff), and Vanessa Ann McGinty Dabbs (Brett); his sister, Melissa Boutwell (Rob); his legacy of grandchildren, Logan McGinty, Dominique Marie King (Skyler), Kolten Rogers (Debra Rackley), Falynn Ava Norby, Tanner Smith, Harley Dabbs (Chris Alvarez), Addison Dabbs, and Bryce Dabbs; his two great grandchildren, Remington King and Colton Alvarez; along with his extended family members, Dockery, Zachery, and Hunter Cates, and Travis, Kimberly, Allen, and Jeff McGinty.

A graveside Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 1st, beginning at 1:00 pm under the pavilion at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, with Bro. Mike Powell officiating the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations to be made in Ricky’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to a charity of your choice.

The staff of Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-North is grateful for the opportunity to honor Ricky’s life and memory and to serve his loving family during this time.
