Robert Donald "Don" Snowden
Services for Don Snowden will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with Father Jose Sanchez officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday at the church from 10 - 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery.
Mr. Snowden, age 69, of Meridian, passed away on November 12, 2016 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. Don was born in Meridian, MS to Malcolm and Ann Glover Snowden. He graduated from West Lauderdale High School and the University of Southern Mississippi. Don worked as a chemistry teacher for several years before returning to school to become a respiratory therapist. He retired from Riley Hospital after many years of service. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Prior to his accident three years ago he was an active member of the local chapter of Mercy Associates.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Emily Harwell Snowden; Daughter, Melissa Snowden Richardson (Shane); Grandson, Eli Richardson and Granddaughter, Presley Richardson; Brothers in law, John Harwell (Bridget), Minor Harwell (Hilda), and Thomas Harwell (Sue Ann); Several Nieces and Nephews; Special cousins, Kales and Chester Parker, Jerry Snowden, and Gloria Stewart.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church or the Cancer Patient Benevolence Fund at Anderson Cancer Center.
Member of the Knights of Columbus will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Gough, Kales and Chester Parker, and John Harwell.
