Mr. Robert Eugene "Ned" Watkins

Services for Mr. Robert "Ned" Watkins will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at graveside (Magnolia Cemetery) at 3:00 pm with Rev. James Rickles officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1:30 - 2:30pm at James F. Webb Funeral Home. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. Watkins, 83, passed away on March 9, 2018 at Diversicare in Meridian. He worked in purchasing at Anderson Hospital for many years and was a member of the 186th Air National Guard. He was a an avid sports enthusiast and coached several different sports. He was an accomplished athlete in his own right, holding state championships in football, baseball, and track. He loved to be in the outdoors hunting and fishing. He was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Latham Watkins; Sons, Jamie Shane Watkins and Roby Kevin Watkins; Daughters, Donna Watkins Rollins (Pat), Robin Douglas (Jack), Sharon Luina (Johnny); Six Grandchildren; Six Great Grandchildren; Sisters, Marie Davis, Wilma Rickles (James), Elaine Reynolds (Jimmy); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Leslie Wakins Sr. and his mother, Lorena Curry Watkins; Brother, George Leslie "Beaver" Watkins; granddaughter, Lady Priscella Rollins, and brother in law, Bruce Davis.
Pallbearers are Johnny Luina, Jet Davis, Johnathon Douglas, Jack Douglas, Pat Rollins, Lynn Savell, and Kip Watkins.
