Rodney Todd Sr.

Rodney Douglas Todd Sr. passed away August 22nd 2023 in Meridian, Mississippi. Services will be held at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Friday, August 25, 2023. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 am with a Funeral Service to follow at 10:00 am. Burial will take place at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastors Nick Holden and Jim Hutchison will be officiating.

Rodney was a true outdoorsman, he loved coon hunting, working with his horses, and spending time at Whynot Motor Sports with his sons Doug and David. Most of all he loved his family. He enjoyed laughs and conversation with his children, grandchildren, and great-granchildren. He was a hardworking man and he retired from Magnolia Steel where he worked for 40 years.

He is survived by children Ronnie Gunn (Sammy), Doug Todd (Elizabeth), David Todd, Cindy Havard (Dwayne), and Ralph Schanrock (Cheryl). His grandchildren, Matt Raines, Daniel Schanrock, Bethany Morgan, Colby Todd, Caleb Todd, Maggie Todd, Todd Pruitt, Josh Gunn, Steven Todd, Chris Simpson, and 11 great grandchildren. Sisters; Hilda Booth, Ruthie Atchley, Lura (David) Lee, Martha (Rayborn) Clark, Margaret (Phil) Bradford, and Pennie (Jeff) Crawford. Sisters-in-laws Hilda Todd, Faye Todd, Dianne Ward and numerous nieces and nephews. Rodney also leaves behind his beloved dog Roscoe.

Rodney is preceded in death by his loving wife of 29 years Nora Todd, parents Helen and Odell “Buddy” Todd; stepmother Edith Todd, brothers; John T “Tommy” Todd, Billy Todd, Robert Todd, Ralph Todd, Pete Ward, and sister Linda Sue Todd.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Wing, Jeffrey Walker, Ed Hembree, Chris McElhenney, Johnny Hughes, and Scott Cash.
