Mr. Rawlings, 81 of Quitman, went to be with the Lord

Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Specialty Hospital in Meridian.

He was a member of the Lions Club and Quitman Bass Club. He was known as an avid bass fisherman and talented artist.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pauline Rawlings;

Daughters: Jackie Shirley and husband, Larry of Lucedale, MS; Jeanne Long and husband, Lamar of Meridian; a son, John David Rawlings of Meridian; a brother, Billie G. Rawlings and wife, Marie of Meridian; five grandchildren: Derek Shirley and wife, Samantha; Lindsay Whitaker and husband, David; Ashley Long, Matt Long and Jeremy Waller; four great grandchildren: Olivia and Myles Shirley; Jackson and Reece Whitaker.

He is preceded in death by his grandson, Jason Waller.
