Rosa Bonney Brooks
Services for Rosa Bonney Brooks will be held Monday, at 11 a.m., at St. Marys Episcopal Church in Enterprise with the Rev. Brian Ponder and the Rev. Harriet Simmons officiating. Burial will be in the Enterprise Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Brooks, 88, died Thursday, February 28, 2013, at her home. A graduate of the University of Alabama, she taught for several years at Kate Griffin Junior High. Nowhere was she happier than driving through the woods or walking on a logging road. For more than 30 years she expertly managed the familys tree farm, and she passed this reverence for the land to her loved ones.
Survivors include her beloved family: her daughter Allen Brooks Chamberlain her granddaughter Evans Anne Chamberlain her sister Mary Ann Bonney Riley her brother Dr. Walter Allen Bonney, Jr. her nieces and nephew, Ann Riley Dennis, Richard Franklin Riley, Jr. and Amy Bonney Hoffman.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Kendall Brooks, Jr. and her parents, Walter and Rosa Bonney.
Pallbearers will be Sally Huggins, LaTonya Wells, Mary Temple, Sherie McAllister, John Lewis, and Joe McGowan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Marys Episcopal Church, P. O. Box 177, Enterprise, MS 39330 or to St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 1116 23rd Ave., Meridian, MS 39301 or to a charity of your choice.
